Mmmmm...Wow! We had a great trip to Seattle!! The flight out was uneventful – and the constant hum of the engines lulled me to sleep for most of it. We arrived in the evening, it was dark, and a bit rainy – perfectly fulfilling the Seattle cliché. Craig was there to meet us and take us to his place where we were staying. It was the first time I’d met Craig, Jenn and their son Jackson. They are awesome! It’s too bad that we live so far from them… I’m sure we’ll go out to Seattle again.

On Friday we chilled out for a while and then went to North Bend – there’s an outlet mall there that Mom wanted to go to. After shopping we hung out at home and got some great Chinese food.

On Saturday we went into the city with Jenn and checked out the world famous Pike Place Market, rode the Monorail, and saw the Space Needle. Mom and Jenn bought some neat pasta at the market and then they cooked a great dinner – Dad didn’t like it too much but it seemed like everyone else did. That's Puget Sound In The Background

Sunday Mom and I went shopping in Bellevue with Jenn. Dad, Craig and Jackson hung out and watched VH1′s Top 100 One Hit Wonders of the 80s. Twenty songs per hour – they watched all five hours. When we got back from shopping Dad and Craig were going to go for a mountain bike ride but the weather had changed and the rain was coming down. Instead we stayed at home and played – it was awesome!

That evening we walked into the town of Issaquah and had dinner at Margaritas. It started out interesting but just after the food arrived I decided it was time for a nap. After dinner we took a walk through the town and explored the salmon hatchery. There wasn’t much to see as it was dark – but the sounds of the rushing water lulled me to sleep.

That’s about all I remember from the trip! Dad has some photos that he said he’d post later.

Mom and Dad have a tradition of taking a photo of themselves as they head out on every trip. This is the first trip for me – and I’m in the picture!!!

Seattle Here We Come! The flight to Seattle was pretty good. I slept for most of it. The only issue I had was while we were sitting in the airplane, our on the taxiway, waiting for other airplanes to take-off or land. Sitting there, so close to leaving, and not moving drove me a little crazy. And then it started to smell like airplane exhaust. So I started to wail. It was the only way to alert the rest of the passengers to what was going on. Many of them had already started to drift into lala land so they were unaware of the delay. I wasn’t going to let Air Canada fool them. I think I woke everyone up – but really, who should be sleeping at 6pm other than me???

Today was a busy day. Up early to wrestle with Dad (after sleeping through the night. Again.) followed by Aunt Renie’s 100th Birthday Party. The party was fun. I slept through most of it, but the parts I remember were cool – there were singers, dancers and lots of people I’d never met before.

After the party we can home for a quick snack before we headed out to have dinner with Josh & Michelle. Dinner was also a lot of fun. I slept through much of it but the parts I remember were great.

Today, after dropping Nana off at the train station, Mom, Dad and me went to the beach. Heading to the beach, in Toronto, in October might sound like the opposite of what you’d want to do on Thanksgiving but it wasn’t. It was perfect. And proving our Canadian heartiness we saw people playing beach volleyball, and a dude in a speedo who went swimming. In Lake Ontario. He was old. Very old. And wearing a speedo so it’s clear that his judgement is impaired.

Anywho… here’s a pic from our day at the beach.

They think I’m sound asleep right now but this is the only free time I’ve had to catch up on my blog. Mom and Dad went out with Trevor and Dana for dinner and a show tonight so Nana and Auntie Lynn came over to keep me company. It was awesome. We played games, talked, I got a massage, and I got to eat. Twice!

I can’t wait until the next time I get to spend time with the two of them. And maybe next time Grammy can also come over.

I asked if they could put that under my photo on my passport but the woman behind the counter just looked at me like I was talking gibberish. My passport arrived today and much to my disappointment she didn’t include my catch phrase. Oh well. At least I’m legally allowed to travel beyond the borders of my homeland.

First up, the you ess of eh!

I just got back from an adventure to middle-Ontario (although to most people in Toronto we were in “northern” Ontario… but what do they know anyways???)

It was the wedding of Mike & Nancy at The Wigamog Inn outside of Minden. It’s about three hours from home – at least that what my Dad said. I slept for most of the ride so I thought it was only a few minutes from home. I should have known that it was far from home as it was very quiet and dark at night. And the air smelled different. Nice. Welcoming. I’d like to go back – maybe not to The Wigamog (and just what is a Wigamog?) but to a place in the Haliburton Highlands, or Muskokas. Maybe next year we’ll get out own place and start a tradition?

The wedding was nice – short and to the point – just the way I like it. I was surprised that even though I kept quiet through the ceremony some of the adults weren’t. And one guy had his cell phone ring. Twice. Why didn’t he turn it off after the first incident? So it goes…

We’re home now, safe and sound, ready for a good nights rest.
